DEEP PURPLE

There is something missing here. The self-titled album Deep Purple is really a work of transition between the psychedelic / blues rock of the previous two albums with the rawness and hard-rock albums of the following. ironically, it lacks an identity.

I was very recpetivo the openings Shades of Deep Purple and The Book of Talyesin but Chasing Shadows is already a sample of the album may leave something to be desired. Confused, unnecessarily confusing. Blind and Lalena are much better, especially the first one, if I remember correctly there is the use of a harpsichord. Fault Line / The Paintor repeats the logic of the earlier works of the fourth song to be a set of two works, but is much weaker than Prelude: Happiness / I'm So Glad and Exposition / We can Work It Out.

B side opens violently with strong and ironic Why Did not Rosemary and follows with Bird Has Flown known. None of these tracks but surprise me. However there is still April. Oh God, what a song! Deep Purple was certainly not the first band to have the support of string and wind instruments for a song, but they were certainly the first to give them a space to be the stars of the show - thanks to unmatched talent and knowledge of classical Jon Lord, the master! A masterpiece, this song.

Unfortunately the rest of the album is not aware of Pril, and that is why I give a rating of three stars.
