This is one of the coolest psychedelic albums I ever listened, but it is not for the faint- hearted. First two songs, "Black Sand" and "Places Of Light" are wonderful mini- masterpieces, but the remaining title track is an experimental and noisy hotch-potch, driven by the repetitive organ chord and sound effects. The legend goes that the breaking glass and police alarm sounds were an accurate, documentary record of an actual drugstore robbery by a group of junkies, but I can't remember whether it was true or just a teenage fanboy imagination. Nonetheless, this theory sounds sympathetic and if you got strong guts, you may get to appreciate this crazy trip. Hammond organ is the signature sound of this album while the cover design says it all: approach with caution! (I can't remember exactly, but there was a sticky label on the record cover warning potential listeners that "after listening to this record your friends will not recognize you anymore" or something like that). Consume in small portions, after a proper meal!
