3 stars When I saw them in concert, I was shocked!

It was in a festival when other alt/grunge/etc. bands representative from the 90s such as Stone Temple Pilots of The Flaming Lips performed; the last act was NIN. My knowledge regarding this band was actually limited, but I was perverted to see them on stage because some friends told me they had a good show. And they did, so now I can say that I will totally see them when they comeback to Mexico (if someday).

Anyway, then I was enthusiastic and got this DVD, which I thought it would make me feel like in the concert. 'Beside You In Time' was released in 2007 and contains material from some of their 2006 shows. Here we can appreciate well-known songs such as 'Closer', 'Head Like a Hole' or 'March of the Pigs', songs that people who barely know (but like) the band can easily appreciate; but it also has some other tracks that work perfectly together in a concert where one can listen to alternative rock, industrial, electronic, metal, etc., etc., etc., thanks to the diversity of this unique and original band.

However, after some views I did not really feel that same excitement that I felt when I saw them on stage (that is obvious), but this does not happen with some other DVDs or bands that I absolutely enjoy watching. I don't really know the motif, but I believe I was highly surprised and excited in that show, that I could not control the feelings, and later I had my feet on the ground once again. In other words, I was a bit disappointed with this DVD, it never caught me as I expected, in spite of the overall great songs choices. Actually, in moments I feel bored.

But well, this is one of those strange experiences. Musically and visually talking the DVD is good, the only problem here are my feelings. That is why I will (criminally) give three stars.

Enjoy it!
