HOLD YOUR FIRE

My attitude on this site is to emphasize the good and interesting progrock instead of writing negative reviews about bands, artist and albums I dislike. But at some moments I feel an urge to push away this attitude. This time I would like to give my opinion about this album that is rated between 1 and 5 stars, room for discussion! I'm a hugh Rush fan and follow them from their album "A farewell to kings" until .. indeed, this album. I bought it, played it a few times and then sold it for a few bugs, what a disappointing Rush effort! To me Rush had lost control over their MIDI-controlled high-tec music, resulting in a over- produced and too clinical sound, far away from the exciting and compelling mid-Rush era featuring albums like "Moving pictures". I simply don't understand that progheads give 5 stars to this album but on the other hand, music is a matter of taste ...
