2112

2112 ( Not that far off!) was the beginning of Rush making serious headway in the prog rock arena. Sure it shows naivety at times but that is what makes some of the early progressive sounds so pleasurable. This is a richly layered gem from Rush. Side one encompasses 2112 as in the whole suite and it is pretty fanatstic! I listened to this just the other day and it reminded me why progressive genres make such rewarding listening. Side 2 comprises of shorter songs but ' Passage to Bangkok' and ' Lessons' really shine.
