WORKS VOL. 2

Works Vol. 1 hinted that the mighty ELP might be in trouble, and the follow-up confirmed it. Works Vol. 2 features all the songs not good enough to be featured on the decent first edition. That right there should send up some warning flags. The songs are certainly not progressive, with their short length and (mostly) simple structures. However, teh real problem is that they are not any good. With the exception of "When the Apple Blossoms Bloom...yadda yadda yadda" (the title is more progressive than the song), no song is even enjoyable.

The funeral bells had not yet rung for the band. That would come with their next release, title Love Beach, which should be considered at least a mild curse by music fans and Englishmen. Still, this pathetic raiding of the vaults serves only to prophesize the band's fall from grace.
