THE MAGICIAN'S BIRTHDAY

Uriah Heep's Magician's Birthday is a great album. It's not quite essential as it didn't have a massive affect on the music industry, but it is amazing nonetheless. Some tracks have experimental/odd segments, along with wild solos, fast-paced good ol' rock n' roll, and even a dash of beautiful, thought provoking moments. It has everything I'd like in a prog album (except for baffling complexity, over-the-top lyrics and emotion). Unfortunately, like Styx, it's an album that is sort of screechy. That's the best way for me to describe it. It's a fantastic as it does not quite move the listener emotionally. It is very fun, very original, with high musicianship, though. Happy birthday, Magician.
