Ok, so sometimes I do revert to elementary creativity/humor(?). Anyway, another use of the opening line quote would have been redundant. I personally like this album very much! I feel that it has some great music, very possibly some of Mr. Wakeman's best. It has the feel of being where it's supposed to be when it's there. I enjoy it the most of any of his albums, with 'Journey...' and 'six...' in close succesion. Only Rick Wakeman in his youth/heyday would have attempted and in MHO-pulled it off majestically, a grandiose statement of such quintessential British folklore. His keyboard play is top-notch, dead-on! Everything on this album musically rings true to me. I have no idea if this album was ever performed live, let alone captured on film, but I would love to see-sorry for interrupting, but I'm listening to this as I type, and I just have to say--"You gotta love that silent movie piano break in Merlin(!) too funny!- anywho, were was I? Oh yes, live, well if it was recorded on film back-in-the-day, I could only hope that it someday sees the light of day in dvd form! I enjoy greatly the 'journey' dvd from Australia and I think I would enjoy this one even more! This record is a solid 4.5 for me but just doesn't quite reach the masterpiece level. Although this to me is Rick Wakeman's solo masterpiece! Anyone interested in great 70's keyboard music played with a rock ensemble and a strong touch of orchestral and choral music should definately consider this album. Obviously to appreciate this fully, an aversion to blatant story telling verging on broadway musical form would be something that you couldn't bring with you. It is an outstanding album and the top of his works-(French:ouebvresiereuovre) (pardon my French) IMHO!
