5 stars My favourite prog album of all time (so far). Four long tracks with adventurous music and lyrics. Although the tracks are long, there is a strong sense of 'discipline' in the music, and none of the instruments is allowed to dominate. Yet there is superb guitar work, and a variety of keyboard sounds to give atmosphere. The use of mellotron is particularly effective, often giving the music a sinister edge. There are plenty of changes of tempo within each piece and Matthew Parmenter's vocals are charged with emotion. My favourite moment is when part 1 of 'Before The Storm' fades to nothing to be replaced by a mellotron 'fade-in' for part 2. If you like symphonic prog, I'm sure you'll love this.
