I think this is the greatest album of the Progressive Metal genre in terms of raw
musical quiality. The greatest has to be Liquid Tesnion Experiment 1, but only by a nose.The fact that it is instrumental makes it more interesting, and it must be, because there is no support of the "lead singer that can just scream of we run out of ideas", and this forces the composer(s) to create interesting harmonies, and mix genres, and move from subject to subject quicker, which makes it even more progressive and interesting than standard "progressive metal". The fact that it is much more jazzy makes your heart melt over and over, the jazz just sounds so much more brilliantly harmonic and clever, in contrast to the heavy riffs of metal that ussualy come before. And of course, the technical genius of these guys is just mind blowing, but we've all gotten used to Portnoy, Rudess and Petrucci, haven't we? Somehow though, they excite me over and over again... This therfore, is a masterpiece of progressive music... 5 stars! :)
