4 stars I agree with last reviewer, albums are frozen in time. I bought it from new and a love for all gentle giant. From my college in Aston Birmingham I took it to a DJ and played 'words from the wise' alongside patti smith, ramones, sex pistols and damned. At that time music was going through a major change as giant had already displayed on 'a missing piece'. It must have been difficult, bands were writing structured smaller pieces alongside the music of the time. I think that 'words from the wise' 'thank you' 'friends' 'no stranger' 'its only goodbye' etc are worthly examples of one of the most honest creative english sounding bands. Anyway writing a pop song is not easy. ELP, YES, GENESIS have all had a go. I am writing as a professional musician who is nostalgic like the rest of your reviewers.
