3 stars The entire album is actually a deal you would expect in the late 60's, so if you are a kind of person who can't put his/her finger on the experimental psychedelia of the old, this album is for you. From where I'm standing, it is nothing but a collection of lengthy trippers and really good ditties. Most of the music here is guitar-driven. The guitar tone is really cool, so the chords ring loud and true. Also, the melodies of the guitar are simply "stoney", or "weedy", and there are lots of such melodies. What more could a rock-n'-roll lover possibly want? The experimentalist spirit of the group is present on the record, so that's other good news, unless you are not into timbre play. And, to top it all off, there is this awesome front cover featuring a scythe-man who is about to slash your head off and use it for golfing by a pink flag in the haze of fire. I really like that combo of red, yellow, and evening-blue. There you go. There is power in the music and there is power in the visual art.

Ratings/comments (if you have to ask):

'Soap Shop Rock' - **** ('Halluzination Guillotine' is my personal favorite on this one)

'She Came Through the Chimney' - **** (at one point I gave this a five)

'Archangels Thunderbird' - **** (pick up your guitar and play that tune!)

'Cerberus' - **** (part-ethnic and organic, then crunchy and tight)

'The Return of Ruebezahl' - **** (my biggest favorite, perhaps)

'Eye-Shaking King' - *** (groovy and way ahead of its time)

'Pale Gallery' - **** (half-dead, almost dormant, yet somewhat dreadful, menacing, having that shimmering organ timbre)

'Yeti (Improvisation)' - * (why don't you make your own conclusion on this one)

'Yeti Talks to Yogi (Improvisation)' - * (why don't you make your own conclusion on this one)

'Sandoz in the Rain (Improvisation)' - * (why don't you make your own conclusion on this one)

Stamp: "I like it."
