4 stars I bought this LP package the very day it was released. I had seen the "Welcome Back..." show 4 or 5 times (alongs with several earlier shows). ELP was an incredible live act in the early and mid 70s. I really felt that not originally releasing this in discrete quad sound may have been an injustice to ELP and the quadraphonic market. 2 channel stereo couldn't recreate this live performance.

My only complaint about their live shows was how rigid, rehearsed, and "non-spontaneous" they were. They could have learned a lot from a THEN young and hungry devil from the Jersey shore who was playing tiny venues at the time driving fans insane with an instinct to adjust the setlist at any time and keep every show unique, interesting, and full of energy.
