5 stars After being so into Meshuggah and being charmed by the song "I", I was expecting a strong release when they told that they were on a new albums. They delayed the release date of this album for 6 months and man was I about to die waiting. Even before it hit the shelves (in April), I found the promo version and downloaded and when I started listening... I was dissapointed. Yes I was! The album was a whole song divided into 3 episodes which were divided into 13 songs, and the first part definitely sucked (or this was what I thought after the first listen.) so I just skipped thru but couldn't get the taste because of the dissapointment. After the exams during the day, I put my headphones on and listened from the beginning and... and it sounded so wonderful that I started trembling and until the final where the slow guitars come in with a slow tone, my mouth was totally open. With victory, I decided that this wasn't going to remain as mp3... and it didn't!

So what is this album. This is another revolutionary step from Meshuggah after "I", the epic 21 min long song. The album starts with hardcore riffs, absolute growls and great drums from the first second that suck you in the music. Although the music sounds the same throughout the first part, when you compare the first and the last song of part I, you realize the truth. With growls from the bass and robotic voice of Tomas, part I ends and part II stars with a silent but disturbing prologue. With the start of two songs called In Death - is Life / is Death, you find yourself floating in the song of mystery, misery! After leaving the second part with yet another 7 minutes of rest, the last part starts, a part that in the end leads you to cry. It plays with your emotions. So anyway... in a hurry, I finish this album review.

IF you are a progressive death metal fan... this is a MUST!!!

That's the point =)
