Brendan
3 stars There is nothing really wrong with this album, it just suffers from being near the end of a creative spurt. The band seems to be running out of ideas. The first song begins with a computerised sound that gradually slows down and then you're left waiting and the rest of the song is a snapshot of various musical styles, which seems like a desperate idea for a song. A lot of what follows sounds like recycled material and this culminates in the incredibly disappointing 'my song' where Mike Pinder rips off his own wonderful 'voyage/have you heard' to more or less make up a token Pinder song for the album. There are good songs, notably 'The story in your eyes' and 'Emilys song', but you never really feel like you're listening to anything new.
