THE WAIT OF GLORY

I don't remember how this band came on my musical radar, but it might be that I am a huge Kansas fan and the great Kerry Livgren is the mastermind of this. Whatever the reason, I am thankful that I came across an album that elates me every time I spin it. It is totally right up my alley with all these diverse and rich arrangements that include the flute and the saxophone too, the superb vocals of Lynn Meredith, the inspired bass lines of Craig Kew, everything does its bit to build beautiful songs which are arranged in such a perfect flow that the entire album goes by in a flash. Truly, every part in here has a reason for existence and everything is so beautifully and wisely connected to each other that all these numerous themes give way to each other in an absolutely natural way. Although the music was written by Kerry Livgren, excluding Melicus Gladiator the music didn't bring much Kansas in mind and that's only positive. I am convinced that the majority of prog-fans will find the album interesting, to say the least, and I will go as far as saying that it is so wonderful that it could even bring new listeners to prog music.
