4 stars This is great! Clearly rooted in Canterbury but with a very fresh sound. IMHO Canterbury has a universe of potential untapped and this is a perfect example of that. Smart, beautiful sensibilities, extremely listenable. Doesn't bog down, as every change, every groove, is well thought out with fun dashes of whimsy. Excellent vocal writing. This is music that has me shaking my head in smiling appreciation and oh so welcome these days. The fun way mundane lyric ideas are brilliantly and musically cast.... I'm not a big lyric guy but the melodic writing and singing is so tasteful and beautiful that I couldn't care less what the words actually are. (The highest compliment) One of the best releases of the past few years. I have it as 4 star currently but I sense it has the potential torise to 5 with more listening!!!! A must listen!!
