I am going to give a contrary review. I may be the only person who lives this album, but I think for any fan of Godley and Creme and 10CC and their various iterations this record is great fun. You have lines of lyrics where different words in the same line are from different tracks and even the titles of tracks are sampled. There are also sounds from tracks that have been sampled which are not mentioned on the credits so for anyone familiar with duo's work it is like a treasure hunt listening for and identifying where stuff is sampled from. The mix of I'm Not in Love and Cry is a highlight but so are tracks on side 2. I think it is a shame that there is not a volume 2 as there is a huge catalogue which could be sampled from. I think adding the extra tracks in dilutes the joy of this crazy album and I think it should be enjoyed in its original form. When it came out I was pleased that all 4 boys were together again on a record, albeit by sampling and I think it represents a much better reunion than the later 10CC album Meanwhile. I am giving this 4 stars even though I don't think it is an essential prog album for people who are mainstream prog fans. It's debatable whether a sampling record should be considered progressive at all. However, for fans of 10CC and G and C it is a joyful retrospective.
