3 stars PFOF. WOLFFF were a five piece band who formed in Germany in 1971. They released this self-titled album in 1972 and broke up that same year. For the most part we get a hard rocking album where the organ and guitars lead the way along with the abrasive vocals. He sings in German, and apparently the lyrics are quite political. All I know is that the vocals really keep this from going into 4 star territory.

We get five tracks at 36 1/2 minutes and the two longest pieces both just under 10 minutes are worthy. They open and close the album, but it's the three songs in between that have me wincing a bit, and grimacing. Those fast paced vocals on "Das Zimmer" come across as lame. Remember singing in German here. Then the multi-vocals on "Missverstandnis" are cringe worthy to say the least. The longest of the middle three is "Hans Im Gluck" and features more of those fast paced vocals as well. I actually like the bonus track which is a radio edit of the opener.

This is a combination of folk, psychedelia and hard rocking blues. A product of it's time I suppose, but if you like those early seventies, hammond organ driven albums, then you should check this one out. I'm not into that creepy album cover either.
