3 stars CAMERA are a trio from Germany who would play these impromptu concerts in public places in Berlin without permits or permission. These shows would usually end when security or the cops arrived. But these stunts created publicity. They coined it Gorilla Krautrock. We get keyboards, guitar and drums playing often in that NEU! style. They have released five studio albums, and this is the debut from 2012. I own this and the followup from 2014 "Remember I Was Carbon Dioxide". And while I like "Radiate!", I feel like the next one is more consistent, plus they contrast those NEU! inspired tracks with dark soundscapes which I like.

They thank Dieter Moebius and Michael Rother in the liner notes among others. I do have a top three, and my favourite of those is that longest piece called "Lynch" at 11 minutes. Spacey winds to start as drums join in then distorted guitar, and we are off. An atmospheric ride. "Rfld" has that post rock mentality as it builds to an incredible sound 5 1/2 minutes in. "Soldat" rounds out my top three and this one just sounds amazing. There is a clear top three for this album, while the rest are hit and miss.

A solid album but I will stick with their next one for my tastes.
