3 stars Whoa whoa hold on there! Now I don't pretend to be much of a fan of so-called classic Yes, but I do very much like the Going For The One album, and in my view Union is actually pretty good, although I agree it is patchy. It is far better that he ABWH effort.

I would have waited forever - A Yes rocker 4/5 Shock to the system - Another great rocker 4/5 Masquerade - Steve Howe solo, not great 2/5 Lift me up - Better than most of 90125. Maybe not Yes, but still a decent track 3/5 Without hope you cannot start the stay - Slows the pace down. Nice vocals from JA 3/5 Saving my heart - Oh dear 1/5 Miracle of like - Another Rabin penned tune, again better than 90125 3/5 Silent talking - Another atmospheric one 4/5 The more we live - Another Rabin penned tune, again better than 90125 3/5 Angkor wat - I like this one too, great JA vocals 4/5 and then 5 mostly rubbish tracks to conclude.

If this had been edited down to 8 tracks, it would have been 4 or 5 stars, but there are 7 below par.

On balance the good stuff outweighs the poor, so 3 stars.
