3 stars Well, I got what I was looking for. I wanted to explore more music in the realms of Psychedelic/Space Rock. And I stumbled upon Eloy. Wow, how I recognize so much from the grandmaster of this genre.

Though the album starts with a keyboard sound that is very much like something Genesis did before, the first track Poseidon's creation quickly shifts into a tempo that reminds me of Shine part VI-IX. Including the guitar that is almost a copy, really. The singer sounds very much like an 80's Gilmour. Not really my favourite era of THAT band. In fact, this whole song is how their examples would sound 10 years later. Very interesting indeed. But at the same time, it lacks a real punch. This song lacks what makes their examples so great. That said, the musicianship is great. 7/10

Incarnation of Logos starts with a synth accompanied by the singing of Frank Bornemann. It all sounds bloated, the singing I mean. When the song progresses it picks up speed and it gets interesting. I love the synth, bass and strumming in particular. But I simply can't care less about the singing bits. 7/10

Decay of Logos has an interesting instrumental start. But again I can't bear the singing. It's not only the bloated lyrics. It's also the German accent. A bit too goofy for me. But the music is top-notch and certainly influenced by, but expanding on their examples. Bringing their own thing. Great synth, bass, and drumming again. 7/10

Atlantis ..... is the longest track on the album. It has a very long buildup. Which is not but not gripping in any way. More than halfway in, the song starts properly. Again it's like Eloy travelled forward to their examples'80s work. Adult Oriented prog rock. 7/10

I rate this as a good album. But it is certainly not essential.
