Here we have a guitar virtuoso playing his socks off. In fact, everyone on this album does a great job. The drums, the bass, the vocals, the synths... it's all majestically played.

But, as so often, the album doesn't deliver on other essential topics. Art isn't about exceptional skill only.

For one, I miss originality in the compositions. I also miss a certain feeling in the music. And I have a lot of issues with the corny lyrics. Sung with confidence, they don't bring anything to me.

This is a great album for people who like prog metal for its virtuosity (alone). They may rate it 3 to 4 stars. I rate it 2 stars
