3 stars This is a difficult album to rate. Side 1 has the classic epic 2112, starting a string of great Rush records. The other side is mediocre and salvaged mostly by brilliant musicianship.

2112 - This is pinnacle 'Rush' for me. 2112 is up there with their best epics. I love every minute of it. It feels like a journey and it's proggy as heck. 10/10

A Passage to Bangkok - Brilliant musicianship elevates a mediocre song. As they will do more often in the future. 8/10

The Twilight Zone - Acceptable track of a disappointing B-side. I love the shrieking guitar. 7/10

Lessons - Another mediocre track awesomely played. 6.5/10

Tears - I hate the chorus. A lot. The rest of the song isn't that great either. Mellotron can't salvage this one. 6/10

Something for Nothing - This is another track I don't dig. The worst track on the record. Bad closer. 5/10

2112, the track, is essential listening for prog fans. But the remainder is for fans only. I will choose the middle ground. And rate it 3 stars.
