3 stars Sexual Harassment in the Workplace is a single release by US experimental rock artist Frank Zappa. The single features the two songs Sexual Harassment in the Workplace and Watermelon in Easter Hay. Both songs are taken directly off the Guitar (1988) live album which of course makes the purchase of this single more or less unnecessary if you already own the album. Guitar is a live album with only the guitar solo parts from songs taken from various live performances in the eighties. Both songs on this single are among the best tracks from the Guitar album and thatīs why Iīm gonna rate the single with 2.5 - 3 stars. Quality wise itīs a great buy and since there is nothing new under the sun here and itīs much more recommendable to purchase the full album instead of spending money on a single with no exclusive material Iīm tempted to only give 2 stars. You canīt deny quality though so a 3 star rating it is. Frank Zappaīs guitar solo style in the eighties was often characterized by lots of feedback, strange rythm parameters and next to no melodic content. Very challenging stuff. The solos on the two tracks here are among his more melodic stuff from that era though and could serve as a good introduction to that side of his playing.
