5 stars The greatest progressive rock album ever made.

With only the three core members left in the band, KING CRIMSON put out their masterpiece: Red. The album is very heavy and features David Cross and Ian Macdonald to add extra instrumentation that boosts the albums sound, making it sound like prime KING CRIMSON. The last track, Starless is the perfect song to close off and end this era of KING CRIMSON while the first track, Red is the perfect song to mark the beginning of the end. The song Fallen angel has a strong cornet lead that makes the song sound very beautiful, making you imagine a fallen angel. The song One more red nightmare is very heavy and could be considered the very first progressive metal song. Providence is a nice break before the storm that the song Starless is.

Overall this should be the second KING CRIMSON album that you listen to right after In the court of the crimson king. The album is in my opinion the greatest prog album ever made, and it still stands the test of time and still sounds fresh and new with every listen.
