OCEANBORN

I bought this CD having read the multitude of glowing reviews about it and intrigued by the debate about whether Nightwish really deserve to be included on this site. I may not have much to contribute to the debate, but I can say I thoroughly enjoy the music! A joyous mixture of symphonic bomblast, folk-tinged melodies, operatic vocals, sweeping keyboards and crunch metal guitar- the whole thing is wonderfully over the top. I would recommend this as an album for anyone like me who is thinking of trying'progressive metal'. Nightwish have certainly encouraged me to sample more of the genre.
