4 stars Of the Moody album's I've heard I would have to say this is the one most bordering on full blown progressive. The album is about split down the middle with your standard mellow, rocky, Moody's song making up one half, and progressive numbers making up the other. The most notable difference between this albums and priors is that the Mellotron is mostly pushed aside for the Moog (a change I'm probably in the minority of agreeing with).

What initially caught my attention here was the strong classical influence on a few of the tracks with instrumental sections that wouldn't have sounded too far out of place on a Focus album. Also, this album contains what is most likely their most inventive track, "Procession", in particular note the use of electronic drums. The progressive numbers are all fantastic. Unfortunately, the rockier tracks leave a little to be desired. They capture the tranquility of the album quite well, some are pretty good and the rest are ok.

Overall the album averages out significantly on the positive side. The album opens and closes with perhaps the two best songs the Moody's have recorded. After you get Days of Future Passed I would recommend this as your next Moody's purchase.
