LIGHT AS A FEATHER

This is certainly one of the greatest albums of all time. A Fender Rhodes electric piano was never played so well. Chick Corea just puts everything down playing frenetic jazz in latin rhythms. The kitchen, provided by Airto Moreira and Stanley Clarke, is simply perfect! I was actually blown away the first time I heard "Captain Marvel". I thought, this must be one of the greatest songs ever recorded. But this was only a part of the whole thing. The other compositions, like "Light As A Feather", "500 Miles High", and "You're Everything" shows a superb musicianship joined with a beautiful melodic sense, and some awesome very-fast passages. Flora Purim's vocals takes you to heaven, and Joe Farrell's sax and flute just burns the fast passages with a torrent of fast notes. Chick Corea's Rhodes solo in "Spain" shows how brilliant this man is, and is easy to see why he's considered one of the greatest players ever. This is one of my "desert island" albums! 5 big stars!!!
