4 stars If you are looking for "progressive music" then this is not necessarily the album for you. Although the Beatles did indeed have a lot of progressive songs and more often, progressive parts of pop songs, they had not hit that stage in their career at this point. That being said, this album is without a doubt one of the best works put out by the best band of all time.

With Beatlemania in full swing, this is the album that really solidified the Beatles as the act never to be followed again (they would go on to re-solidify this fact with the adventurous Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band) Every song on the album is a classic. If any of these songs should come on when you're with a group of people, it doesn't at all matter whoe they are, they will have to fight hard to keep from not belting out the words. The only reason it is receiving the four star rating and not a five is the fact that a five star means that this album is a masterpiece of PROGRESSIVE music. It's not. But it is most certainally a masterpeice.
