ALMAGEST

I found this album here in progarchives, like many other obscure prog albums and Almagest beauty surprised me. I was expecting something in the vein of Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Tangerine Dream and Ozric Tentacles but i didnt found anything that i even can call similar to this major influences in space prog. I think that Egyptian Kings follow a different path. The harmonies, experimental curiosity, exploratory sound emotional images and clever intuition into deep inner space is unsurpassed, and that´s why i think some people call this revolutionary or new. I have a different opinion because what i think is new is the emotion, is the feeling that are taken to levels never reached before by any band of space prog. Clearly this is a excellent modern space prog album but not to everyone tastes because you have to be in a certain mood. 5*
