My version of this DVD in the Classic Rock Legends series features a different Roger Dean cover art; a dark grey/green with arches typical of Roger Dean's wondrous style. I prefer mine over the one that's shown here, but both are nice. As I've pointed out in previous reviews, the art work on these DVDs is actually one of their main attractions. Here we have Rick Wakeman performing a small set of tunes including two selections from Six Wives Of Henry VIII, a version of Journey To The Centre Of The Earth, and Elizabethan Rock/Make Me A Woman from the then current Time Machine album. If I understand it correctly the VHS version also included Merlin The Magician, but that one is sadly not present on the DVD for some reason (one would think that DVDs should include additional material, not less).

The line-up features Rick (obviously), Ashley Holt on vocals and electronic percussion, David Paton on bass guitar, and Tony Fernandez on drums. The perceptive reader will have noticed the absence of a guitarist. This is one of the main drawbacks on this performance. If it wasn't for the fact that there are so many excellent Rick Wakeman live releases on the market, I would probably be much more excited about this one. But it simply cannot stand up against such great live concert DVDs as Live In Buenos Aires and Made In Cuba that have more of a full band feel (guitars and all) and longer and more diverse set lists. Still, watching this DVD is a very enjoyable experience in its own right.

This is a great entry in the Classic Rock Legends series, and Wakeman certainly is a legend, but this is not his best live video release
