Redjy Emond biography

Redjy ÉMOND is a Québec composer, arranger, programmer and keyboard player inspired by Rick WAKEMAN and Keith EMERSON. His classical background, reflected in his music, is mainly Bach and Moussorgsky, and his electronic guru is Japanese composer TOMITA. After studying at the Conservatory, he started teaching while perfecting his computer techniques at the keyboard. In the early 90's, he became involved with several tribute bands (PINK FLOYD, GENESIS, TRIUMVIRAT, ELP, OFFENBACH) and also composed some film scores. He then fulfilled a life-long dream and self-produced two excellent albums, "Sphere" and "Tension", displaying expert performance with material made up of rich compositions in a keyboard/bass/drum format.

"Spheres" (97) consists of 15 short tracks spread over barely 47 minutes; "Tension" (02) is about the same length but spread over half the number of tracks. Both albums are quality productions made up of delicately crafted and exquisitely colourful themes, reminiscent of ELP, Rick WAKEMAN, TRACE and PAR LINDH - imagine a purely synthetic and instrumental ELP with carefully programmed bass and drum (about as close to perfection as you'll get, short of real musicians).

Definitely recommended to fans of ELP and Rick WAKEMAN.
