Moto Armonico biography
Verona, Italy based progressive metal act MOTO ARMONICO was founded in 2010 by guitarist Uccio GHEZZER and vocalist Patty SIMON. Soon afterwards, drummer Alessandro VERONESI, bassist Giampi TOMEZZOLI and keyboardist Christian PASIN were recruited, finishing the line-up. After numerous live gigs, their self-titled debut was released in 2012 featuring music that was metal yet lush with keyboards, strong female vocals sung in Italian and some progressive leanings. In 2013, Patty left the group and was replaced by Luca ADAMI, whose vocals are not dissimilar to those of DREAM THEATER's James LABRIE. The band's overall sound also went further into progressive metal territory with their 2014 release, ?Down to Timavo?. More complex arrangements and lyrical concepts, this time sung in English, the band fuse strong technical skill with rich harmonious melodies.

3 stars Moto Armonico (Harmonic Motion in english) is for sure one of the lesser known prog metal bands from Italy in last years. Two albums in their pocket so far with the second one Down to Timavo from 2014 being the best from the two. While their first album had a female vocalist, who was pretty much ok most of the time, on the follow up on vocal duties is comming Luca Adami, who also done an ok job all the way being is same direction with LaBrie manner of singing.

The arrangements are complex enough to please any prog metal fan, lush keyboards passages, technical elements are present but combined with melodic lines, all pretty much good from start to finish. The album is well balanced from , from more up tempo to more laid back moments, for sure a good prog metal release, at least in italian prog metal scene.

I think worth investigated, similar with Empty Tremor , Atto IV also prog metal bands from Italy or Dream Theater maybe Fates Warning in places among others

Thanks to aapatsos for the artist addition.
