New Beard biography
US band NEW BEARD was formed by vocalist and composer Ben Wigler in 2010, the next stage of his band history following the demise of his previous band Arizona. On this occasion he brought along his good friend and drummer Tony Waldman, while TubaJoe Exley was suggested by some friends as a suitable alternative to a regular bassist. Guitarist Yuzan was the final piec eof the band puzzle, and was recruited following one of the few performances New Beard gave as a trio. When this quartet of musicians had settled, they released their first EP "Moment of Peace" in November 2011, and just seven months after this New Beard were ready with their full length debut album "New Beard City". Since the release of this CD the band appears to have added another member to their fold as well, namely saxophonist Maria Christina Eisen.

US band NEW BEARD was formed in 2010, more or less as an artistic continuation of singer Ben Wigler's previous band Arizona, from what I understand. This new ensemble released an initial EP in 2011, which was followed by their full-length debut album "New Beard City", issued in the summer of 2012 on the US label Shoulder Tap Records.

Quirky, unpredictable and eclectic music of a kind that might be described as both experimental pop and progressive rock is what New Beard has to offer on "New Beard City". A taste for the unexpected is probably needed to enjoy this production, and a certain affection for jazz-tinged escapades, psychedelic rock and The Beatles. Accessible, enticing and engaging music sporting sophisticated and quirky details aplenty.
