NUITO

Nuito emerge with a myriad of talents. Their sound is outlining with aggression, fineness, and collages of dense melodies. Unutella is an album that will blow you away from the start. Diversity, prowess, individuality, and tastefulness will all be found here and create an experience that will not disappoint for any Math-Rock fan.

Like any great Math-Rock band should, these musicians are blessed with flawless timing and are sonic architects. While the band is as tight as any human could ever be, they still develop moment where they become loose and impulsive. The music is vibrant and often heavy, while never overwhelming you entirely.

Intrkctn: Beginning with a piece that explores the mind of Nuito. Here we have a song that sounds open-ended, but gradually becomes more composed. You'll hear many of Nuito's styles here.

NeKoMaJiN vs: Right away you're slapped in the face with Nuito's more combative style. You're given fierce Math executions that mimic a quick, destructive force that is clear of any musical debris. Tapping and looping outline the song, bass gives fathomless depth to the song while still indulging in itself, leaving electrified drums mapping out the rest. The band capitalizes with barrages of notes only taking few, short breathers during the song.

Tongpoo: Tongpoo is one of my favorite songs off the album because it breathes and thrives the entire time. The song has a restrained nature, almost caged. The power of the band fluxes throughout and every so often you have times that releases some of the contained power, never expelling all of their energy though. The guitars paint a misty, secluded hill in my mind, with the gorgeous tone and aura that is has. The drums have a subtle jazz touch to them and gives the piece more dynamics. Beautiful.

looo(no)reque protocol: We return to the sound of Nekomajin. Similar in structure, but a whole new piece of work. Drums become more melodic, while the guitarist seems to have drained his maneuvers, exhibiting nothing we haven't heard on the previous tracks. The bridge has a real sci-fi feeling to and brings the band into a brilliant ending.

消ええらるる世界: Building into a standard Math-Rock style, Nuito eventually stops the scattered tapping and immerses you in a stream-like environment. Flushing you in a current or leaving you hovering in the open water. This passage is brilliantly dynamic. Afterwards the chaos begins again.

Hinemos: The remnants of songs before recollect to make a mostly transitional song. Consistent and firm, here you have a submissive drum groove with the guitars filling up the space well.

弋: Possibly the heaviest song here, the restless band comes to put an exclamation point on their dynamite sentence. It starts off with, and is dominated by a rattled guitar and my favorite drum work on Unutella. Emotive and reactive, it mimics all moods invoked by the others and complements them. The bass seems to be trying to sooth the remaining duo with these graceful lines that calmly echo through the noise.

Unutella would be a Math-Rock album i would suggest to anyone considering the genre or to anyone who likes a little kick to their instrumental music. The album has a real bite to it, though sometimes suffers a bit to repetition, but repeating a something good isn't always that bad. I hope this album gets under your skin as much as it did to mine.
