Project Moonbeam biography
PROJECT MOONBEAM is the brainchild of Chris Fournier, also known for his former work under the moniker Fonya. He composed songs for an eponymous album while working to get his new recording studio operational. Several musicians are supporting him on this production, to name electric violinist Cyndee Lee Rule first and foremost. The music is a blend of space rock, psychedelia, symphonic and electronics.

3 stars Interesting release this one, the debut album of Project Moonbeam. Chris Fournier (best known for his Fonya releases) is the main man behind this project, with a number of collaborators adding details; violinist Cyndee Lee Rule being the most important of those.

On the last section of tunes, the handful or so of tunes with Rule participating are very much about contrasts, with warm sounding instruments and atmospheres are contrasted with the cold and chilly sounds of the electric violin; resulting in musical creations with a cold alien feel to them, psychedelic music from another plane being my main impression of those tunes.

The rest of the compositions are partly new age tinged synth dominated explorations, some tunes coming across more like some kind of space fusion and a few good old fashioned space rockers of the slicker kind; less gritty and harsh than most tunes in this genre.

It is an uneven album overall; some tunes brilliant and captivating while others are more mediocre. Most tunes are good though, and fans of space-tinged music should find lots of goodies on this release.

Thanks to rivertree for the artist addition.
