THE FIRE

The "Element" concept continues this time with "Fire" and Nero is the subject matter.This is their third album with "Water" and "Aire" proceeding it. Much like the last album i'm having a real difficult time getting into this one. Maybe it's because it's a concept album and the focus is on the story, I don't know, but the music just does little for me.

"From This Tall Tower I" is almost silent until we get some life after 1 1/2 minutes, this is all about atmosphere and calm though. "It Begins" features acoustic guitar as reserved vocals join in. It does pick up after 1 1/2 minutes. Atmosphere late as the vocals stop. "World Of Nero" is a more passionate track including some organ. "Netting" opens with strummed guitar as laid back vocals join in. A beat follows. It does settle with atmosphere. "Don't Talk" has a beat as these mechanical-like vocals join in. A cool sounding tune. "All Is All" is a more traditional sounding song with vocals. "Where Or Why" is a good vocal led track. "From This Tall Tower II" has these faint sounds early on then spoken words take over with a beat.

"Jaded Love" has this beat that builds a minute in as reserved vocals join in. "Age" is a short atmospheric piece. "Jaded Love II" is catchy with piano and synths helping out. "Isis" has these melancholic vocals that are slow paced. A heavy sound takes over late. "Haze" has strummed guitar and vocals. Atmosphere before 3 minutes. "It Ends" has a heavy beat with guitar as reserved vocals join in. It does get fuller. "The Fire" is the closing number and easily the longest and best. We get a good mid paced rhythm with atmosphere and vocals.

Fans only is my rating. Maybe if your into concept albums this will appeal to you.
