4 stars This is their second album within round about 10 years of existence. Hence it looks like that SELDON have not been a very active band since the formation in 2008. Anyhow, what they are delivering music-wise is top notch, and that really matters in the end. 'Per Quale Sentiero' si deve decidere? Which path will you choose? This is pointing to the essential question concerning our future. Again the album's concept is inspired by the imaginative world of sci-fi author Isaac Asimov. In fact the band name as such already derives from his Foundation series, which is dealing with 'psychohistory', a new science that will allow to predict the future. I've listened to a lot of RPI related albums this year, which often enough ended with a so so impression, or even disappointment, just if bands are trying to follow a very trendy fad in these days, but inspiration is running out more or less on the other hand.

Of course, I know, this is a matter of taste in the end. Whatever, on this occasion concept, compositions and execution totally convince me. Keyboarder Marco Baroncini provides a rather typical singing, I mean his voice and mode of expression as such, and of course that the lyrics are in Italian language, nearly essential when it comes to this genre. He is very present, refined instrumental parts are also given anyway. Jazzy drums, virtuoso bass playing, varied keyboard and guitar presence. Fantastico! Charming here and heavy there, melodic anyhow. Yeah, the whole affair is eminently entertaining, leaves nothing to be desired. To name exceptional songs let me mention La Vita Delle Ombre, and of course the core track Corpo E Anima dealing with the special relationship of body and soul. That gem definitely invites to singalong. And how wonderfully groooooving is this in between! Please give 'Per Quale Sentiero' a try.
