3 stars Six elements is an unknown prog band coming from USA with one album rleased so far in 2012 named Primary elements is based upon Kipling's poem 'If' . The music offered is very much most of the time laid back with mid tempo arrangements going towards symphonic prog, some neo elements thrown in and some folk elements added in the mix aswell. Stanley Whitaker from Happy the Man and Oblivion Sun fame is present here who provides the vocal duties, is ok , warm nice vocal parts but hardy impressive, it goes aswell for the instrumental sections who are not many, most of the time the pieces are to vocal orientated and few instrumental parts present. All in all not much to add, overall is quite ok, but hardly great , for fans of calm, mellow prog with not many complicated parts. 3 stars

4 stars SIX ELEMENTS' debut CD 'Primary Elements' (2012) was a very accomplished album with old Genesis as the dominant influence, Pink Floyd and Camel like another flavour. It scores great in terms of playing, production and presentation. Quite obviously, the lead singer Stanley Whitaker (ex-Happy the Man) has a definite Peter Gabriel timbre to voice. Dave DeMarco (former mate from Oblivion Sun) makes guitar howl in the same way that we know from Steve Hackett. And last but not least, keyboardist Michael (Misha) Shengaout who's certainly from Mr. Tony Banks school, providing plenty of interesting solos as well as symphonic progressive backdrops. All material has a strong resemblance to the period of 'Nursery Crime' / 'Foxtrot' / 'Selling England By The Pounds'. It can grab you from the first instant to make feel like you are listening to something special, in the best traditions of Golden 70's era. 4,5 stars...
