I have sometimes wondered about Senmuth's experimental side. This project of the very prolific multi-instrumentist Valery Av is in the Experimental/Post Metal section on PA, but I've never thought to him as experimental until this album that's if I'm not wrong his 86th full length release.

Well, this is the first very experimental album of Senmuth's career. The most chaotic parts dominated by the heavy distorted guitar remind me to bands like Kayo Dot (in their chaotic moments, of course) and at the same time this album has very ambient moments like the esotheric "Reverberations of King's Chamber".

The album has seen its birth in the first weeks of 2011 when, after haveing spent the previous year releasing one album every two weeks, Senmuth has taken a pause and has spent two weeks in the place which is always been his principal source of ispiration: the Egypt. The mentioned track is effectively made of sounds recorded in the Cheops pyramid with some over-recordings of heavy guitar and some edits.

The album is very hard, good for fans of Death Metal or Trash. There's no growl just because it's all instrumental, and what is impressive is the mixture of ambient and metal in the same track. It's like Senmuth has decided to bring the usual structure of his music to its limits.

Not an easy album, and finally one different enough from his usual things. This is a relevant aspect as in general Senmuth is very prolific but also very repetitive.

The most interesting track, other than the one from the pyramid, is "Baryon Asymmetry" whose ambient parts are very spacey while the metal ones are harder than ever.

The only track that maintains the aspect of a normal Senmuth track in terms of structure is the closer "Soul Tribe Deprimocratia", that in any case is very hard as well but instead of ambient interludes it has the usual ethnic interruptions which are very common in Senmuth.

Very hard and experimental. A 3.5 stars album that somebody, specially a metaller, may rate higher.
