3 stars This 1987 release was JMJ's second live album. Actually these are really good live documents of yet another two huge and unique Jarre projects, covering most of the Rendez-Vous album in the process for the first time. Surprisingly it opens up with a short rendition of 'Oxygene 5' together with several radio ads promoting the show, before neatly seguing into 'Ethnicolor' - one of the key tracks of the Zoolook album. A weird but great start! The addition of live bass guitar and drums give the tunes a very good new feel and drive to them, and the infamous laser harp is of course present later on the album in the symphonic centerpiece 'Rendez-Vous II' and 'III'. Too bad the amazing visuals are missing, which is the biggest fault of all live albums from him. It do still capture a fine mood from the surroundings, and I recommend the 1997 "Cities In Concert" remaster, as it features almost half an hour of more stuff from these events. Recommended to fans of Jarre from this era in particular. 3.5/5
