3 stars Anoxie is an obscure progressive rock band coming from France who release officialy only this ep in 1986 named A new dawn featuring Visa For An Other World and The Returning, a short ep for the band and after this they split up without releasing a full lenght album. This is a pretty rare item, hard to find almost in any format, is mostly a collectors release, never being a realy essential to have or something alike, never the less good pieces. Lionel Gibaudan (bass) he can be found later on prog band also from France, XII Alfonso on Odyssees album from 2000, and Thierry Sportouche as singer/lyricist also apear on Silver Lining album Inner dragon from 2004. They got also a compilation of rarities and demos from early years named pasteles released in 1987, icluding these two songs from the ep'. The band remind me of Eloy (80s era)in places, same attitude, with some neo prog added and electronic keybords sounds. Little simplistic in arrangements but not bad at all. Anyway 2 pieces is to less for a band to show their full mtalent and musicianship, the other release from 197' is diffrent of course in sound and production and must be considerated the first step in prog world. so a ' star ep for me, not bad ,not great, anyway fun to listen, the main problem is that is too short. Similar in sound with dutch Cirkel,Eloy , danish Zaragon.
