2 stars The lead off track from "Under the Pink" is another underwhelming cut from the one 90s Amos album that never clicked for me. Tori is very fond of her sophomore effort as are many of her fans, so I may well be in the minority who feel she gave the best of her early punch to the debut, and didn't regroup quickly enough for this album. Yet I love everything she came up with after this one. The lead single is a soft contemplative piece with occasional bursts of fiery vocals and does bridge the debut's sound and feel to UtP. The other two tracks are "Honey" and "Black Swan" which are brooding and soft pieces primarily accompanied by piano, both with her signature intimate feel and lyrics. They fit pretty well with the main track to create a cohesive single that should easily appear to most Tori fans but is not crucial to others. Interestingly Amos kicked "Honey" off of UtP in favor of "The Wrong Band," a decision she has since expressed regret over.
