CHOOSE A BRIGHT MORNING

Sweden is not renowned for it's Post rock and Jeniferever certainly do not sound like a Swedish band although this 4 piece band is from Uppsala. I am pretty sure that when people listen to this they will think that the vocals are American. In no way is this either good or bad but perhaps a little disappointing. Anyway onto the music. Before writing this I was wondering why it had been some time since I last played the album and even more why it seemed that after about 3 tracks I seem to stop listening finding something else. So when I stared to listen to it I was surprised because the first track is really quite good with strong percussion and vocals. And that is it for the whole album. An hour of songs which are all so similar that they roll into one and leave me finally underwhelmed. This is an album that is very demanding on the listener as it does require you to listen hard. If I were to listen to any track on its own I would be thinking I want to hear more, but more should be different not just the same. I do not want to be too hard because I am not a big Post Rock listener, this is not an album for collectors only and if you love post rock it will be good but I think you will be wishing that they just pushed it a bit more.
