YESSONATA

I rather enjoy Rick Wakeman playing the old Joanna. These are 2 twenty minute pieces , the first is taking classic Yes themes on a ride, the second similarly with the The Myths and Legends Of King Arthur and the Nights Of The Round Table. Imagine Rick in a smokey Casablanca style bar wearing a fedora and you have the picture. Perhaps not quite as jazzy but this is relaxed and fun. The 75 yr old has certainly not lost any of his dexterity on the keys. Delightful. The official blurb: Written earlier this year for performance on his Final One Man Solo Tour of North America, Rick Wakeman's 'YESSONATA', a medley of YES themes adapted for solo piano, was so well-received in concert, it was decided to make it available on vinyl format only. However, demand from fans who no longer own turntables been so great that a release on CD will now follow a month later. 'YESSONATA' is paired with 'THE KING ARTHUR PIANO SUITE', recorded on a Steinway Model D piano at The Old Granary, and features beautiful, specially commissioned artwork by Roger Dean.
