2 stars 2.5 stars. I used to see Jacques name a lot when I was into Francois Thollot and looking him up here. It is confusing that both are avant drummers from France who delve into Zeuhl. I much prefer the music of Francois by the way. This debut album by Jacques Thollot is very much a "do it yourself" affair. Yes his drumming is all over this but he adds electronics and keys. A lot of short pieces where it feels like there has been a lot of trickery done in the studio to make this work. It doesn't actually work at all in my opinion.

This is so out there, and so far from being structured. Like stuff spliced together in an avant manner. A lot of acoustic drums too which I'm not into. Like free jazz at times. I'm just so not into this one. Jacques would release a few more albums in the seventies that are more structured and feature some vocals and zeuhl stylings. In other words, all are a step up from this amateur sounding debut. This is all Jacques and his jazzy collages of sound.
