3 stars MAKE A RISING are this bizarre outfit from Philadelphia combining poppy music with the avant to over simplify it. Silliness is a big part of it, not only their sound but the costumes they wear. This is a 19 minute EP and man I don't like the cover art or the album's title, but it's the music that counts. A five piece here with lots of guests including vocalists as they like those BEACH BOY harmonies. Some off kilter vocals and complex music here over three tracks.

"Don't Don't Don't" opens with these multi-vocals and piano that I really don't like before it turns poppy, and these contrasts will continue until just before 4 minutes where we get some depth and music I can appreciate. "Flux Dogs" again like the opener starts off poorly but by the 2 minute mark it turns surprisingly haunting. This is much better, and lasting for 2 more minutes. The closer "Nommo Days" is almost 8 minutes long but really disappointing. Some good stuff late on it but overall this is my least favourite.

I just don't have a lot of enthusiasm for this EP.
