![]() Music there is soundtrack for Dutch movie, and no even traces of free jazz or hardcore Zorn's avant could be found there. Acoustic trio plays melodic and tasteful neoclassical and jazz (hard bop/post bop/contemporary jazz) compositions, sometimes combining both genres on the same composition. Musicians are great and obviously they enjoy their music there. Possibly a bit conservative album for Zorn's discography (but he has some similar already for sure), but extremely pleasant, tasteful and enjoying. Zorn (as often) doesn't play on album himself, so it's more illustration for his (excellent) composer's abilities. Otherwise, this album could be recommended as great entrance to Zorn's world for every fan of contemporary jazz and even neoclassical music. Not the album for avant/prog listener though (ok "Suicidal Tendency" is composition for such listener there).
