4 stars 1978 hearalded the much enjoyed Heavy Horses album from Jethro Tull. And I may stand corrected but " Moths" was the first single released off it. A lovely restrained song simply describing moths and their attraction to light, reminiscent of summer nights and campfires. Lyrically Ian Anderson was at his best and " Moths" is a great example of his storytelling within a song, evoking the mood all tucked up splendidly within great song structures. I remember seeing the video for the first time on TV, seeing Anderson and crew strutting their stuff. Sure it looks dated, but they were having lots of fun. The song certainly has not dated at all. Excellent stuff.
